2nd prize Plastor Trophies: AM Bat Granville company for the "Album de Famille" shop in Granville (50)

Founded in 2023, AM BAT specializes in sanding, varnishing, and installing solid wood flooring. This year, the company distinguished itself by winning second prize at the Plastor Awards for the renovation of the former "Lucien Dior" villa in Granville, which has been transformed into a home decor boutique. "My father, who has over 26 years of experience in sanding and varnishing wood floors, and I created AM BAT in 2023," explains Aurélien Bouchaton, its president. "We work on a wide variety of projects, in both the private and public sectors." In Granville, the original brown oak flooring, covered with cement over 300 square meters, required several weeks of sanding to level the subfloor and expose the wood beneath. After stripping and preparing the surface, the chosen system ultimately combined a hard primer with a bare wood effect finish and two coats of matte PUR-T®3 DUO. “To remove the old coating, we had to carry out leveling sanding for several weeks,” he continues. “Our clients wanted a finish that was both highly resistant to the shop's traffic and easy to maintain.” The technical challenge lay in ensuring the substrate was even after the extensive stripping and achieving a natural look suitable for heavy commercial use. After eight weeks of work, the parquet floor has finally regained its full luster and is ready to welcome many customers.
